Born in a real home boarding business

Two humans.
Lots of dogs.
One very good idea.

Pawfile wasn’t dreamed up in a beige meeting room. It grew out of Pawsies, the home dog boarding business Joolz runs in Coventry, with Ian handling the tech, marketing and occasional dog-sitting support shift.

THE ONE WITH THE LEADS

Joolz

Joolz set up and runs Pawsies. She handles the Meet & Greets, walks, care and all the practical magic that keeps a houseful of visiting dogs happy.

THE ONE WITH THE CODE

Ian

Ian looks after the tech and marketing, alongside his day job as Technical Director at Grant Genie. He has been known to write code on his phone, sitting on the floor at Euston while waiting for the first train home after a night out.

A council inspection changed everything

“We’ve never seen anything so well suited to home dog boarding.”

That was the reaction to the system Ian had built for Pawsies. In particular, the inspector loved how it guides every Meet & Greet question and works naturally as a conversation on a mobile.

That comment made something click. There are brilliant systems for kennels and dog walkers, but home boarders have different days, different spaces and different needs. The useful bits of the Pawsies platform deserved to help more people.

One wildly productive August

So Ian built
Pawfile.

Pawfile was created during August 2026. It takes the experience earned at Pawsies and turns it into a simple, guided platform made specifically for home dog boarders.

It helps you prepare for Meet & Greets, ask the questions that matter and keep each Household and Dog’s details where you can actually find them. Even when you’re holding a lead in the other hand.

Forever Head of Hounds

Boomer kept
everyone in order.

Boomer was there for the founding of Pawsies. He supervised the humans, welcomed the visiting dogs and supplied direction, help and encouragement in the way only a truly excellent dog can.

We lost him in July 2026 and miss him enormously. His standards, spirit and official title — Head of Hounds — remain part of everything we’re building.
